Im not good with backgrounds, i need to learn a LOT about color, the character gets a bit lost with the background and the green i think it looks too green even though i toned down the saturation a lot, there are 3 things im proud of this pic 1. i finally dared to draw a background, though it sucks XD 2. i think the pose turned out nicely 3. the DAMN TATTOOS!! DX
I wont draw this character EVER again D: too much effort and time on the tattoos.
This girl had no name, she was just a stray wild lonewolf, savage as she is, one day someone decided to try to take care of her and gave her a name, Alexandra, or Alex. Shes a short fused wild woman who likes to hunt and pwn whoever dares or crosses paths with, the stronger the better.
damn bg... i hope it would have turned out better
Edit: i fixed a bit of stuff, nothing i can do for the light source but i fixed the saturation more, and i added the shadow below the character

I think it is a good work, the line art is very good and it is obvious that it took a lot of effort. Things that you could improve are: 1-keep the light source consistent. You have light coming from all over with no real direction. Also she does not seem to be casting a shadow on where she is crouching. Also keep the light the same color for all the image. 2-A good way of getting your background not to compete with your focal point is to keep the saturation down. Also remember aerial perspective, when the background recede it gets bluer. Hope this helps! I think you did a very good job!

oohh thanks for the tips, yeah i guess i forgot the light source ><; i got a bit frustrated since the BG was taking so long, can do the shadow thing on the rock. i go work now, need a lot to learn thanks ^^
All the work shows at the end. The red tresses. The axe. The little clothing she wears. The arms details and of course the damn tattoos. They are beautiful. About the background, it shows. I especially like the trees. XD And it is good to see you doing backgrounds. I am expecting to see you begin a comic! Or a manga, whatever.

"Life...Dreams...Hope... Where'd they come from? And where are they headed...? These things... I'm going to destroy!!"
It would take ages for me to draw something like that, and well, I'm bad at leaves and weed... the tree on the left looks really gorgeous!
The warrior itself also looks very appealing and the tattoos are a nice eyecatcher. I'm just afraid that the background itself distracts a little from her.
But: really awesome work ^^

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
